LATEST POST: Analysts Lost In (Norwegian) Woods
This blog is dedicated to new economic ideas and thoughts about how we can change the worlds financial system to the benefit of all countries – rich and poor.
We need to make our economics work to preserve our ecosystem, rather than ruining it. and make it possible for underdeveloped countries to participate on equal terms in the global markets.
Some radical solutions are necessary, some conservative theories has to be rejected, new ways of looking at the market must be explored and a new definition of progress must be invented.
Econotwist is the blog of Frode Haukenes who’s been a financial reporter since 1986. He’s now an independent writer, blogger and commentator.

Mr.Haukenes is dedicated to explore possible ways that corporations, governments and law makers can contribute to make the the ongoing historic economic event a successful turingpoint in the history of mankind.

I applaud both the thoughts expressed above, and the fact that you seem to be the only person in Norway (and more widely, actually) whose published financial writings address the reality of our situation.
I have been working in the field of regulation and development of global markets for almost 25 years, for six of them as a Director of the International Petroleum Exchange, and I am particularly interested in the emerging generation of networked markets and businesses and the potential for reconfiguring the financial system “bottom up”.
Since Lehman collapsed, such new thinking has been increasingly welcome, and I have given evidence to both the UK and Scottish parliaments, as well as working closely with a Norwegian government agency (which part funded the development of the concepts) and with a major Middle eastern government at ministerial level.
